Like any mother, labor and delivery for Kim Kardashian and her third child with Kanye West, daughter Chicago, was tough– even though the couple used a surrogate.
During a recent interview on “The Ellen Show,” Kim shared her fears about the process with Ellen DeGeneres and how they were washed away immediately after meeting her daughter for the first time– “It was the best experience. The moment she got the epidural, I was like, “thank God this isn’t me.’ It was such an easy experience. She’s great, her family’s great… It was so easy. The second she came out– any fear I had of, ‘will I not have this connection’? It was gone.”
Before sharing why Kim and Kanye chose her name, she shared that Kanye played Connect Four in the hospital most of the day.
Ellen reminded Kim that she wanted a one syllable name for this baby, “And I did. Chicago is not one syllable. It kind of messes with me, I’m not gonna lie. I really like the one syllable thing. We were gonna name her Jo because my grandma Mary Jo or we were gonna go with Grace and then it was Chicago…Obviously, he’s from Chicago but that is a place that made him and I just felt like Chicago is cool and different.”
Kim also shared that they call her “Chi,” which is one syllable, so everybody wins.
