“On Sunday millions of women around the world became furious with their partners for never looking at them the way Bradley Cooper looked at our first guest during their show-stopping musical performance,” he said.

Then it was time to address the rumors head on. After Jimmy said it looked like you two were in love. Gaga rolled her eyes and then explained it all

“First of all, social media is the toilet of the internet. What it has done to pop culture is abysmal. And yes, people saw love and guess what, that’s what we wanted . you to see,” she said. ” This is a love song, ‘Shallow.’ The movie ‘A Star is Born,’ it’s a love story. We worked so hard. We worked all week on that performance.”

She went on to explain how Bradley directed the entire Oscars performance. “Bradlay—I never relinquish control about a live stage performance— but he directed this film and he directed all of the musical moments in the film and he directed obviously ‘Shallow’ the moment in the film. I knew that he had the vision for how it should go. So I was like, ‘what do you think Bradley.’ He laid it all out. Everything that you saw, was all him. He even also was the one who thought the audience should be lit.”

She continued, “From a performance perspective it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time. Look, I’ve had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you’re singing love songs that’s what you want people to feel.”

Jimmy interjected, “Are you having an affair with Tony Bennett, be honest?”

After coyly smiling, Gaga emphatically said, “No. No I’m artist and I guess we did a good job and fooled ya.”

That they did. The couple should win an Oscar for their real life performance alone.
