“As news of George Floyds brutal murder travels around the world my son David Dances to honor and pay tribute to George and His Family and all Acts of Racism and Discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America. #davidbanda,”she wrote alongside the video.

While many applauded David and Madonna for paying tribute, there were those that condemned the pop star for being tone-deaf. Now, keep in mind, Madonna also shared two other posts about George paying tribute him and condemning the actions of the police offices who dug his knee into George’s neck.

“Watching this Cop suffocate George Floyd with his knee on his neck, handcuffed and helpless, crying for his life with his face in the street is the most sickening, heartbreaking thing ive seen in a long time. ”

However, it was the dance video, that set some people off.

“Cringe. Let’s fight racism with an adopted black kid dancing for a white woman. 🤷‍♂️,” wrote one follower.

“What is wrong with you? You need to take this s**t down now,” added another.

“Soooo you have your adopted black son dance to Michael Jackson after a police sanctioned murder of a black man?? like he’s a great dancer but this is a little tone deaf…,” wrote another follower.

“Sis… Read the room. 😩 A “shuck and jive” for justice ain’t it,” commented a fan.

“You’re tone deaf in numerous ways,” was another reply.

“This is truly a mockery, please remove this,” a fan said.

George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man, died in the custody of Minnesota Police. After the police received a call from a shop owner about a person trying to pass a counterfeit bill they arrived at the store and had George Floyd in handcuffs. That’s when things took a turn. A cellphone video surfaced of a while policeman kneeling on Floyd’s neck for approximately 8 minutes as the man begged for air and said he couldn’t breathe. As a result, George died.

The death caused outrage across the country sparking protests and riots in the streets. The police officers involved in George’s death were fired but no charges have been filed as of yet. The DOJ is continuing the investigation into the incident.
