There are many twists and turns that play out weekly during Mandy Moore’s show “This Is Us.” Yet, Moore has also seen her share of twists and turns in her own life, especially surrounding her 2016 divorce to musician Ryan Adams.

“I didn’t choose the right person,” Moore admits during a new interview with Glamour magazine. “I don’t feel guilty for it. I don’t fault myself for it. When people said, ‘I’m sorry,’ I was like, ‘No. Sorry would have been had I stayed in a very unhealthy situation.’ I I didn’t. I found my way out. And when I did, things opened back up again.”

Indeed, Moore booked a role on her blockbuster show soon after, and also eventually found love again in the form of now fiancé Taylor Goldsmith.

“I was still dealing with the trauma of my divorce when we started dating,” she says. “Taylor was steadfast in his support—that was a huge sign for me.”

Moore says she plans on getting married ‘later this year.’

“He makes me melt,” Moore says of Goldsmith. “I can imagine no better partner. He’s going to be the most tremendous father. I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today. I would gladly weather all of that a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again.”
