Much like her character on This is Us, Mandy Moore’s life has not been all sunshine and rainbows. And it’s those tough times that she is revisiting at the moment in her personal life as allegations against her ex-husband Ryan Adams continue to mount.

In a New York Times story that ran on Wednesday, February 13, Moore joined six other women accusing Adams of harassment and emotional abuse.

“His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time — my entire mid-to-late 20s,” Moore said in the article.

Moore further spoke out with a powerful Instagram post that she also shared on Wednesday (Feb. 13.)

“Speaking your truth can be painful and triggering but it’s always worth it,” Moore wrote on Instagram after the article was published. “My heart is with all women who have suffered any sort of trauma or abuse. You are seen and heard. #sisterhoodforever.”

Despite the allegations, Adams also headed to his social media to tell his side of the story.

“I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly,” wrote the singer-songwriter.

Adams went on to add that ‘the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period.’
