When Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly got the news that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the mother of three took to social media to share her feelings with friends and family. Kelly announced that she has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor called an acoustic neuroma.

“I am terrified of them opening my head, I’m terrified of losing my hearing, I’m terrified of losing facial function, I’m terrified of far worse things that could happen and I’m terrified that I won’t take the time I need to recover because the guilt I might feel of being absent from my kids for too long,” she wrote in a heartfelt post.

As a result, Kelly couldn’t be more grateful for the support she received following the announcement.

“There are honestly no words for what I have felt in the past few days,” Kelly wrote.  “I am beyond grateful and just want to thank everyone who has reached out with their support and especially with prayers for me and my family In these past few days. The ability to connect and support each other is what makes social media such an amazing thing. I truly am beyond grateful. I am going to take some time away from social media so that I can focus on what’s most important in life.. my family.
Thank y’all so much again for all of the support and prayers, it means more than you will ever know. Until then. ✌🏻and ❤️.”

Kelly married Matthew in 2015 and welcomed twin girls in 2017 and third daughter in 2018.

In an update on Kelly’s condition, Kelly’s brother, Chad Hall, took to social media to ask for prayers for his “baby sister,” who is undergoing the brain surgery.

“Please pray for my baby sister’s surgery today. Philippians 4:6-7 “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Thank you!, Chad wrote.

We wish Kelly a speedy recovery.
