Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently made a decision to live a life far away from the royal spotlight.
But recently, the couple started making it official.
According to Entertainment Tonight, a source close to the couple says they are in the process of closing down their Buckingham Palace office, which means that a number of devoted staff members are out of a job. Other selected staff members have been given the option to find another job within the royal family.
“ET has learned that because the Duke and Duchess will now be financially independent, the Royal family will no longer pay for their staff,” the source says. “A number of the employees asked to stay with the Duke and Duchess. Those moving on are all being reassigned and paid redundancy fees. In their new life, things will be streamlined and leaner with staff located closer to them, ET has learned.”
The decision to eliminate their staff in England comes as the couple and their baby son Archie have moved to a secluded community in Canada. Yet, sources say that the family is planning to return to London next month for the Commonwealth Service for Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey.
Here’s to hoping that this very special couple finds their happiness in all their days ahead.
