It’s not often that a former first lady partakes in a dodgeball challenge, if ever, but that’s exactly what Michelle Obama did when going up against late night talk show host James Corden.
What started out looking like a Carpool Karaoke was going to take place turned into a battle of the U.S. vs. the U.K. James tried to claim that what the U.S. can do, the U.K. can do better. Michelle was quick to dispute that claim by showing him up in music and then when James said they were better at sports, Michelle offered a challenge.

“We’re better at sports,” James claims.
“I don’t think that’s true and if it is, you have nothing to do with it,” Michelle exclaimed.
“Oh it is on,” James said.
“It is on,” Michelle replied. And the dodgeball game was set.
Team USA consisted of a all female lineup including actresses Alison Janney, Mila Kunis, Melissa McCarthy, Lena Waithe and Kate Hudson
“I’ve made some calls and let’s just say this team is going to eat them for breakfast. For breakfast,” Michelle stated. “The most important meal of the day. ”
Team U.K. consisted of an all male lineup including Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley, James Corden and Reggie Watts.
“When Michelle Obama calls and asks you to do anything, you just say yes,” Mila Kunis said.

James Corden’s team didn’t exactly feel the same way, but they showed up anyway. Let the games begin. Needless to say Team USA took game one with Michelle Obama leading the way. (Who’s going to hit Michelle Obama with a ball, anyway?)
James Corden will. He did that as Team UK took game No. 2. It all came down to game No. 3, which was close but Team USA took the win.
Better luck next time James.
