The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger Will Undergo Heart Surgery This Week

On Saturday (March 30,) Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger shocked fans when he shared the news that the North American leg of the band’s upcoming No Filter Tour would need to be postponed due to his own health concerns.

“I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets,” Jagger wrote on his Twitter page. “I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”

Music magazine Rolling Stone has now confirmed that Jagger’s specific health troubles have to do with his heart. In fact, the legendary singer will undergo surgery to replace a valve in his heart. Rumors are flying that the procedure will take place on Friday (April 5) and that he is expected to make a full recovery.

His Rolling Stones bandmates were quick to lend their support for Jagger.

“We’ll miss you over the next few weeks, but we’re looking forward to seeing you all again very soon,” Ronnie Wood said on his Twitter page on Saturday (March 30.) “Here’s to Mick ~ thanks for your supportive messages it means so much to us.”
