Miley Cyrus was on hand Wednesday evening (Jan. 16), in California for the Chris Cornell tribute concert. The “I Am the Highway” tribute concert featured countless acts spanning several genres, all who joined forces to honor the late rocker, who committed suicide in May 2017 after an ongoing battle with depression.

Miley wowed the crowd of rock fans with two covers during her time on stage at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Sharing the stage with an acoustic guitar player, she first covered the heartfelt “As Hope and Promise Fade” to a sold-out crowd. Featured on Cornell’s 2011 album Songbook, the tender ballad had her powerful vocals reverberating throughout the venue.

There used to be a time / When I could hold my head up high / My life stretched out before me / And rivers flowed with wine / And had my love beside me / And everything was fine / But now the ride is over / It’s hard to say goodbye,” she croons as the crowd screams along.

She later joined Chris’ former band Temple of the Dog and received a rousing response for her riveting cover of their “Say Hello 2 Heaven.” Channeling her inner rock star, Miley owned the stage with her guttural vocals while backed by Temple of the Dog. Watch her performance below.
