After ending the Avengers series earlier this year, Marvel is back it with the story of Black Widow. The movie studio released the first trailer of the Black Widow franchise, starring Scarlett Johansson, and color us intrigued.
As the trailer opens, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) can be heard saying in voiceover, “I used to have nothing and then I got this job, this family, but nothing lasts forever.” Something we learned when Avengers: Endgame came to an end, but we won’t spoil it for those who have not seen it yet. (what are you waiting for?). However, Black Widow is said to be set between Captain America: A Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Back to the trailer. Natasha faces off against Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) in what looks to be an evenly matched battle. Natasha refers to Yelena as her sister. “Good to see you too, sis,” Natasha says after their battle royale. For those familiar with the comics, Yelena is the second Black Widow.
“What brings you home?” Yelena says.
“We have unfinished business. We have to go back to where it all started,” responds Natasha.
“Lucky us,” adds Yelena.
“One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a hell of a reunion,” warns Natasha.
Black Widow stars Scarlett along with David Harbour as Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz as Iron Maiden, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Looks like a famiily affair we can get on board with.
Black Widow will hit theaters on May 1st, 2020.
