Warner Brothers released the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 and Gal Gadot returns to reunite with Chris Pine in the sequel.
The trailer begins with Diana Prince (aka Wonder Woman) saying “My life hasn’t been what you probably think it has. We all have our struggles,” as we are introduced to a new character played by Kristen Wiig. Have you ever been in love,” Kristen’s character asks.
“A long long time ago,” Diana shares as we see a photo of Wonder Woman’s love, Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine. Moving ahead to 1984—the first installment, Wonder Woman, was set in during World War I—the voiceover says, “Welcome to the future.” This is where Diana and Steve reunite to continue their adventures. But wait, wasn’t didn’t Steve perish in the first film? How Steve survived remains to be seen.
He returns to help Wonder Woman encouraging her by saying, “The world needs you. You know what you need to do,” he says.
The synopsis for the film reads, “Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.”
As the trailer ends the words, “A new era of wonder woman begins” flash over the screen and Wonder Woman makes a change into the golden eagle armor, known by comic book fans. Look out world. We can’t wait to see what happens next.
The film stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Charles Roven,
