In case you missed it, Disney is creating an all-new, live-action remake of their beloved movie, “Aladdin,” and to say Disney fans are excited would be an understatement.
News of the remake was first announced in 2017, along with a cast list including Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Mena Massoud as Aladdin and, to some fans’ surprise, Will Smith as Genie, originally voiced by the late Robin Williams.
With the film set to premiere in May of 2019, fans have been anticipating more looks at the live-action remake— primarily, what Will Smith would look like turned blue. Now, thanks to Entertainment Tonight, their wish has been granted…kind of.
ET shared a photo of Will Smith alongside his “Aladdin” co-stars on the cover of the latest magazine issue and while he wasn’t blue, he was rocking the signature Genie ponytail and goatee.

Naturally, fans had some thoughts about the reveal and about Will not being blue, but he has since assured fans that he will, in fact, be blue for the movie. Whew!

One fan even “fixed” the cover by turning Will blue in Photoshop.
