Broadway star Nick Cordero should have been there to watch as his little son Elvis Eduardo took his first steps. But instead, he missed this milestone as he continues to battle coronavirus at a Los Angeles hospital.
“We have a WALKER,” Cordero’s wife Amanda Kloots wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (June 16) alongside a video of Elvis tentatively taking his first steps.

In the video, Kloots can also be heard encouraging little Elvis, who recently celebrated his first birthday, also without his father by his side. Kloots also shared more footage of Elvis walking around on her Instagram Story.
It certainly must be a bittersweet time for the family, as Cordero continues to battle an ongoing series of complications stemming from his battle with COVID-19.

“Nick has been in the ICU for 73 days, currently dealing with COVID complications. I am balancing this, raising a son and building a business,” Kloots said in a recent Instagram post. “My family is here and have been an incredible support system to me and Elvis. We’re on day 72 and we aren’t even at the first couple miles of the race. That’s crazy to think about because we’ve been through a lot — a lot. And trust me, I have been super emotional about it lately because gosh you just want things to happen. It’s tough, it’s really really tough.”
