When the Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra first began dating, countless hearts were crushed. One of those hearts was the heart of Jonas’ niece Valentina.
In fact, in an interview on The Late Late Show on Monday (March 4,) Kevin Jonas admitted that his daughter had a bit of a hard time warming up to Uncle Nick’s new love.

“At first it was a little rough going for my youngest daughter Valentina,” Kevin Jonas told talk show host James Corden. “Every time (Chopra’s) hand would go around, and (Nick Jonas) was holding Valentina, she would just push it off.”
“(Valentina’s) very territorial,” Nick added.
“It just became an on-going joke,” Kevin added. “I’m not sure Priyanka loved it at first, but they’re cool.”
During the same appearance, the brothers also talked about how their recent return to music actually took place.
“The documentary tracks our childhood to our time with the band, and it was gonna be a story about where we are today — and that was separate lives, doing separate things, Joe with DNCE, me with my solo stuff,” said Nick. “And during that time we started to feel like there was a magic that we felt like we were missing. And the process was basically just, why don’t we give this another shot? We started playing a little music together and realized right away that this is where we’re meant to be in our lives at this moment.”
