President Trump Fires Back at Twitter After Being Labeled With Fact Checking Tags

President Trump is blasting Twitter for labeling his tweets with a fact checking tag  for the first time. The tag warns readers to “get the facts” about the post, while providing a link to further information.

According to The Guardian, the tags came as a result of tweets that President Trump posted about mail-in ballots in California. The site reports that Trump’s tweets violated Twitter’s “civic integrity policy,” which prevents Tweeters from “manipulating or interfering in elections or other civic processes.”

@Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election. They are saying my statement on Mail-In Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post……..Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President, will not allow it to happen!”

President Trump has been very vocal about his opposition to mail-in ballots that will help many people vote in November while dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. As buzz grew about the fact-checking tags to his Tweets, the President continued to speak out about social media and mail in ballots.

“Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that……happen again. Just like we can’t let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!”
