Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reveal name of baby Boy Archie

Finally, the wait to name the seventh person in line for the throne is over. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided on a name for their baby boy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

In a post on Instagram, the royal couple have shared the news alongside a photo of the couple with Harry’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, and Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” they wrote. “This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”

Little Archie was born on Monday, May 6, weighing in at 7lbs. 3oz. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted the happy news on their Instagram account but did not share photos, nor did they reveal the baby’s name.

“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019,” they wrote on their account. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.”

Two days later on Wednesday, May 8, the couple gave us a double dose of news by sharing the first photos of their son and shortly after, revealing his name. This is the first child for both Harry and Meghan.

“It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Meghan shared as she showed off little Archie to the world.
