Reese Witherspoon, like most Americans, was really into the Winter Olympics this year, sending out lots of encouragement and cheers for Team USA. Reese appeared on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and met her “Olympic hero” and champion figure skater Adam Rippon.
Upon first meeting him, Reese says, “This is meant to be– this is the relationship the world’s been waiting for.” She went on to give him some serious compliments: “You smell really good. You’re more handsome in person than on the ice.”
Adam replied by saying, “I really needed this today because before I got here today my life was in shambles. I was getting dressed because I wanted to look my best for you, and I lost a button.” Oh, Adam.
In case you were wondering, Adam said he, like most of us, first fell in love with Reese Witherspoon when she appeared as Elle Woods on “Legally Blonde,” saying, “I think when I watched ‘Legally Blonde,’ he said. “That was it, that’s when I fell in love.”
Reese posted a photo of herself, Adam and Stephen Colbert on Instagram, saying “Some nights are like a magical moment of destiny! Meeting Olympic medalist and all-around-best-in-class-super-star Adam Rippon. Made my night.”
Adam also posted a photo of their meet up, saying “Such an important in American history: The world being changed forever when I finally met my soul mate, Reese Witherspoon.”
