Sterling K. Brown Joins Cast of “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel” in Season 3

It’s hard to believe that Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” could get any better, but with Sterling K. Brown joining the cast, it’s bound to happen.

Best known for his role as Randall Pearson on “This is Us,” Sterling took to Instagram to share a video of the “marvelous” news.

“I’m beyond excited to share some pretty marvelous news… #MrsMaisel, I’m coming for you!🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 @MaiselTV,”he captioned the video.

In the video, Sterling is decked out in a suit and drinking coffee as he shares the good news.

“Sterling K. Brown here,  just checking out the ambiance here in sunny Southern California.  I’m not going to be here for long. You know why?  I’m Eastward bound. I’m going to do a little TV show, maybe you’ve heard of it, ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” he laughs. “The Palladino’s were kind enough to write a little something for your boy and I said yes. So stay tuned. I’m getting together with Midge and it’s going to be awesome. ”

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, co-created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino,stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1958 housewife in New York,  who tries her and at stand-up comedy and teams up with The Gaslight Cafe worker Susie Myerson, played by Alex Borstein.

According to, Sterling will join the cast as a recurring cast member in a three episode arc.

The 43-year-old actor wasn’t shy about wanting to be on the award-winning show. After Rachel Brosnahan crashed a red carpet interview with Sterling in January, begging him to be on the show, the actor  tweeted his response.

“Don’t y’all play with me?! If you find a way for a brother to play with Midge and her dad ….I just might faint! BTW, congrats to the whole ensemble of on your for best ensemble in a comedy!,” he wrote.

Looks like both Rachel and Sterling got their wish.
