Fans expected some big news to come from Ellen DeGeneres’ interview with music powerhouse Taylor Swift on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (May 15.) But no one seemed to expect this piece of news, including Swift herself.

As the two talked about Swift finishing work on her upcoming album (“Yeah, unless I write something else then I’ll just probably put it on the album”), the “Me” hitmaker mentioned that she is also in the process of working on a music video. DeGeneres quickly said that she could be in the video if Swift wanted her to be in it.

“That would be a dream,” Swift quickly said. “Would you want to do that?”

“I don’t know,” DeGeneres replied. “I’ll think about it.”

After a brief pause, the talk show host had her answer.

“OK. Yeah, I’ll do it.”

And while everyone got a good laugh, it was nice to see Swift and DeGeneres together again. Fans will recall that Swift did not do many interviews before the release of her last album, Reputation, back in 2017.

“With that album, I just basically wanted to make music and not explain it,” Swift said. “I am having fun being back here. It’s really great to be back here. I think as a songwriter, I do enjoy communicating about what I’ve made. I really do like that part of the process.”
