When Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson announced to the world that they tested positive for the coronavirus, a lot of people took notice.

Tom and his wife were in Australia for work.  The 63-year old actor was working on pre-production of the Elvis Presley biopic in which he plays Elvis’ longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker, and Rita was working and performing at various events and Australian television shows while in the country, when they broke the news.

“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia,” the Forrest Gump actor said on Instagram Wednesday evening (March 11) . “We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
