Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Two Miscarriages She’s Suffered— “It’s a Huge, Aching Yearning”

Nicole Kidman is speaking out about an issue that affects many women all over the world— miscarriage. The Oscar winning actress is featured on the cover of Tatler magazine, on stands in July, where she revealed that she suffered miscarriages while married to husband Tom Cruise.

“I know the yearning. That yearning. It’s a huge, aching yearning. And the loss! The loss of a miscarriage is not talked about enough,” Nicole told the magazine “That’s massive grief to certain women.”

The “Big Little Lies” star suffered two miscarriages, one in 1990, an ectopic pregnancy, which led to the adoption of children Isabella and Connor, and then she suffered another in 2001. She and Tom divorced in 2001, citing irreconcilable differences.

“There’s an enormous amount of pain and an enormous amount of joy on the other side of it,” Nicole said about becoming a parent. “The flipside of going through so much yearning and pain to get there is the feeling of ‘Ahhhh!’ when you have the child.”

Nicole married country singer Keith Urban in 2006 and later had two daughters of their own. Daughter Sunday Rose (9) was born in 2008 and they later welcomed daughter Faith Margaret (7) in 2010, through surrogacy.
