“Well, here we go!! Waiting to get my total hip replacement,” Roker said on his Instagram page alongside a video of him at the hospital. “I’m ready!!”

By his side was his wife and fellow broadcaster Deborah Roberts.

“Hellloooooo nurse,” he joked alongside a pic of his wife sitting alongside his hospital bed. “Thanks Deborah Roberts for taking care of me.”

Just one day earlier, Roker shared the news of his hip replacement with viewers of the morning news show.

“All of a sudden, I started feeling this twinge in my hip — and then my back was acting up,” Roker said on Tuesday (Sept. 17) about the surgical procedure which is known as a hip resurfacing.  “It seems like my hip went fairly quickly. In the last three months, my left hip has been deteriorating. Going in [Wednesday] and with any luck, I’ll be back in a week and a half or so.”

Roker also mentioned that his sister is also having to go through the procedure herself.

“My sister Lisa is having both of hers done so we’ve got a family plan going,” the weatherman chuckled.

The weatherman updated fans on Instagram with a post surgery video, letting everyone know the surgery was a success.

“And we’re back. So far, my #totalhipreplacement is a success. No pain yet. The folks from #physicaltherapy stopped by. Still in a recovery room,” he wrote.

Get well soon, Al.
