When you sign on to Dancing With The Stars, you take the chance that something crazy might happen while you are dancing live on air. And yes, that’s exactly what happened to model Alexis Ren and dancing pro Alan Bersten on Monday (Oct. 1.)
While the two were doing the tango to the song “Swan Lake,” Berstein was to take off Ren’s tutu during the climactic moment of the piece. But nope, that tutu wasn’t going to budge.
Luckily, it soon came off and the two went on to finish their song. And heck, the wardrobe malfunction didn’t seem to matter much, as the judges still seemed to love the performance.
“The tutu got stuck, but never mind, you were prima Argentina,” said judge Bruno Tonioli about Ren’s performance. “You’ve done a very, very good job.”
“The lift and the wardrobe, not so great,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Everything else was stunning. The incredible energy exchanged that you guys had, the resistance that you talked about, not only was it just between you two and bodies you matched perfectly, but the resistance within yourself.”
“It was a great mix of precision and passion,” added judge Len Goodman. “It is without doubt, for me, the best dance so far.”
Indeed, despite the snafu, the two were safe during Tuesday (Oct. 2) elimination show.
