James Corden welcomed singer/songwriter Bilie Eilish to be the latest guest on his Carpool Karaoke segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, Wednesday night (Dec. 18).
The “Bury a Friend” singer joined the late night host for the usual ride to work, singing and belting out some of her top hits, including “Bad Guy.”
The singer and James then shared a story of Justin Bieber in the crowd at Coachella.
“If I could be honest with you, all Coachella weekend I was like, ‘don’t surprise me with Justin Bieber. I cant’ take it,” she said. “I can’t have to do this show and Justin Bieber is going to be there. So we go to see Ariana and I was watching the set. I saw—cause I know what Bieber looks like, I know his body language, I know how he stands, I know where he wears his pants—so I look over ad I was just like, (she motions her eyes over in another direction), and he just stood there, he didn’t even come near me, he just stood five feet away from me perfectly still. He had the face mask so all I could see where his eyes, but they were HIS eyes.”
We all know those eyes.
The duo then broke into Eilish’s song “All The Good Girls Go to Hell,” before the songwriter revealed that she started writing at age 6 and playing the ukulele. That’s when James broke out the instrument and Billie went on to play the first song she learned, called “I Will” by The Beatles. The two then went on to sing the song that Billie says “gave me my life,” “Ocean Eyes.”
But the Carpool Karaoke took a turn when the artist took James to check out the house she grew up in, which she still lives in. As they toured her abode, Billie shared that she and her brother, Finneas, created her album in the bedroom of the house.
“Before we made any songs together, Finneas said this, and it was kind of as a joke. We were talking about, ‘what if we made music together,’ and he goes, ‘I’m gonna make you the biggest pop star in the world.’ And we just laughed,” Eilish recalled.

“Luckily, with us, me and my brother, we made the whole album, and the EP, in his little bedroom in our house,” she shared. “No booth, no studio, just the bedroom.”
The singer also revealed that she had a pet spider, something Corden fears, and she brought it out to meet him.
“Why would you have such a thing?” James asked
“Cause he’s cute,” she replied.
“There’s nothing cute about him, zero,” James added.
“You’re wrong,” she retorted.
After the house visit, Billie and James finished with “When the Party’s Over.” “That was so much fun. What a fun little thing,” Billie said. And they went their separate ways.
