The host of the recently cancelled Live PD series, Dan Abrams, is giving fans hope that the show may return to A&E with some changes.
When Dan was asked on Twitter whether or not the show would return, he responded with some hope.
“I think A&E is doing what they said in their initial announcement, determining if there’s a “pathway” forward. I hope so and think with some changes it could be an important part of the national discussion.”

In June, A&E announced that they would be canceling the show. The initial statement read, “This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,”Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.”

Soon after the announcement, both Dan and fans were not happy with the decision. Dan expressed his frustration with the cancellation.
“Shocked & beyond disappointed about this,” Dan wrote after the news of the show’s cancellation broke.”To the loyal #LivePDNation please know I, we, did everything we could to fight for you, and for our continuing effort at transparency in policing. I was convinced the show would go on. . More to come.”
Fans flocked to Dan’s Twitter to share their support for the show, but not the network.
“@danabrams I think they disrespected you, the show and all officers by cancelling it.@AETV lost my support. Hoping you find another network that stands up for you and doesn’t need to pander because it’s insincere,” wrote one fan.
“Dan, I know that you know how #LivePDNation feels and there’s no one that represents us better. Please keep up the fight,” added another.
Stay tuned to see if Live PD does return to television.
