‘CNN’ Host Don Lemon Lets the Tears Fall While Talking About Co-Worker Chris Cuomo’s Coronavirus Diagnosis

CNN host Don Lemon couldn’t hold the tears back any longer. As he did his best to put on a brave face during the Tuesday (March 31) telecast of CNN Tonight, Lemon ended up doing what many of us would like to do right now.

He cried.

The emotional moment occurred as Lemon was interviewing CNN’s senior global affairs analyst, Bianna Golodryga.

“The hospitals, um, um, I’m sorry that’s the next thing,” Lemon said, visibly flustered. “I told you I was distracted. I’m sorry about that.”

Golodryga immediately tried to comfort Lemon from her remote location, acknowledging that it must be hard to stay stoic during these trying times.

“Sorry, I said I wasn’t going to do this, Jesus,” Lemon said as he wiped away his tears. “He’s probably sitting at home laughing at me.”

Indeed, Lemon is feeling sadness over the news that his CNN colleague Chris Cuomo has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

“Chris and I are very good friends. We live near each other. And so when I walk into work every day I have to walk by where Chris is, so I usually go to his office and sometimes I bring the dogs and we just say hello,” Lemon explained. “Anyway, he’s just not here, and we have this great relationship.”

Chris shared with the world that he had tested positive for coronavirus on his Twitter page.

“Sooooo in these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus,” he said in a statement. “I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fever, chills and shortness of breath.”

Chris plans to continue airing his CNN show Cuomo Prime Time as he stays quarantined in his basement in an effort to keep his other family members healthy.
