Following the announcement that Dancing with the Stars hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were let go, Andrews spoke out about her time on the show.
In post on Instagram, Erin shared her message, thanking her “loving host, talented dancers and witty judges.”
“Thank you ABC and the entire Dancing with the Stars family for 6 memorable seasons. Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges. I will always cherish my days on that set, even if I wasn’t the best at walking in heels.”
She captioned that message with a heart and winky face emoji.
The “talented dancers” from the show were quick to comment on Erin’s post.
“Love you always Erin. I don’t know who to be sarcastic with anymore though 😞,” wrote Peta Murgatroyd.
“Love you Erin! We gonna miss you,” shared Gleb Savchenko
“Love you,” added Sasha Farber.
“Love you so much!!! We absolutely need that girls night,” commented Sharna Burgess, who was let go from the show in 2019.
The news of Bergeron and Andrews’ dismissal came on Tuesday, July 14, when ABC executives announced the news.
“Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success,” the statement read.
“Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom. Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show.”
Erin joined the show in 2014, following in the footsteps of Tom’s previous co-hosts, Lisa Canning, Samantha Harris and Brooke Burke.
Bergeron shared the news of his release on his own Instagram page saying, “Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”
The following day, on July 15, it was announced that former supermodel Tyra Banks will be taking over as host of the show. Her hiring marks the first time a female African American would host in a solo capacity. Tyra was also announced as Executive Producer of the show, alongside current EP, Andrew Llinares.
The new season of Dancing With The Stars is set to air on ABC this fall.
