Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union to Replace Heidi Klum and Mel B on “America’s Got Talent”

“America’s Got Talent” is shaking things up for Season 14. The reality competition series announced that Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union will be taking over as judges for Mel B and Heidi Klum.

In addition, Terry Crews, who is currently host of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” will continue his run has host into season 14. Which means, Tyra Banks will no longer host the show. One thing remains the same, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell are returning as two of the four judges.

Julianne took to Instagram to share her excitement.

“It’s officially official, I could not be more excited to announce I will be a judge on the upcoming season of @agt!! 🎉,” Julanne wrote. “The talent on this show is absolutely outstanding, and I have no doubt this next season is going to WOW. Performing my entire life, I feel intimately connected to the artist’s journey, and am so excited to be a part of that for each and every contestant. Thank you @nbc & my incredible team. Let’s go!!!! #AGT.

“The next evolution of the format brings in fresh expert eyes to join Simon and Howie on the panel. Gabrielle and Julianne are two of the most aspirational women in the business, on top of being electric entertainers with talent across disciplines,” Meredith Ahr, president of Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, said in a statement.  “I am excited to see how their knowledge, compassion and sheer joy enhance the experience for acts and viewers alike.”

It’s not the first time the show has seen changes to their cast. Simon Cowell replaced judge Howard Stern in Season 11, Tyra Banks replaced host Nick Cannon in season 12, Heidi Klum replaced judge Sharon Osbourne in Season 8 and Mel B was brought in as a fourth judge in season 8, when there had previously been three.

Season 14 of America’s Got Talent kicks off this summer on NBC.
