Former The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe knew she would be talking to host Chris Harrison on Monday (June 15) as her season was featured on the new show of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!
But she had no idea Harrison would be asking her to be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars!
“In all seriousness, I do have a real question for you Kaitlyn,” Harrison said during the show. “This is a question I’m so excited to ask you because, well, your life is about to change.”
“What?!” Bristowe said as she looked at current boyfriend and former Bachelorette suitor Jason Tartick. “Do you know about this?”
“Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?” Harrison asked.
And of course, she said yes!
“I feel like this is back to the moment where you told me I was the Bachelorette,” recalled Bristowe, who worked once as a professional dancer before reality television started calling. “That is the last thing in the world I thought you were going to say. I thought you were going to ask me to take over your job … I don’t know. I’m so honored to say yes.”
The news comes years after Kaitlyn revealed that Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss allegedly wouldn’t allow her to join Dancing With the Stars when she was asked to be a part of the show in 2015.
“Actually I was offered it, had the contract & Mike Fliess told me I wasn’t allowed,” she claimed when replying to a fan on Twitter in 2017, who asked why Bachelorette stars never appear on DWTS.. “He said he didn’t want people wanting fame after his show.”
