Fans of the Bravo series Below Deck will miss having tough as nails Kate Chastain on their television sets. The Chief Stew has announced that she will be departing the show after six seasons.

In a post on Instagram, alongside a photo that reads “Live Your Best Life,” Kate revealed the news.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land based role,” Kate wrote. “I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen.”

The announcement comes after a trying season for Kate. While the 37-year-old runs a tight ship, she found it hard to get along with second stew Simone, deck hand Brian De Said Pern, got into screaming matches with Bosun Ashton Pienaar and even got sand kicked in her face by a drunk Chef Kevin. All in all it was not a great season for Kate.

On the Below Deck reunion, Kate revealed that she had a hard time. “Personally, this has been a very challenging season for me,” Kate revealed. “I think I’m ready for a new adventure.”

Always a fan-favorite, Kate’s followers were there with much support.

“Ok so basically there’s no point in watching anymore is what your saying?,” wrote one follower.

“Please tell me you’re getting your own show, if so I’m in in in 😍💜💜💜💜,” added another.

Whatever Kate’s future holds, we’re pretty sure we haven’t heard the last from our favorite Below Deck Chief Stew.
