The Masked Singer aired the second part of their highly-anticipated semi-finals round with a shocking double elimination on Wednesday night (Dec. 13).
As the latest holiday episode started off with 5 finalists, it was soon pared down to three by the end of the show. Each contestant performed for another round, showing off their Christmas singing talents. The Fox kicked it off singing “This Christmas” by Donny Hathaway, Rottweiler performed “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers, Thingamajig shared his rendition of Bing Crosby’s “Winter Wonderland,” the Leopard added “Big Spender” by Shirley Bassey and the Flamingo wowed the crowd with Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah.”
The panelists threw in their guesses for each, after being given a gift from the singers, which was another clue. Then the time came for the first of two characters to be eliminated. After the audience and panelists voted for the favorite, it was Thingamajig who had the fewest votes and therefore was sent packing.
The panelists had one last chance to guess who was under the mask before the big reveal. Jenny McCarthy went with Clippers player Paul George while Nicole Scherzinger went with basketball player Markelle Fulz. Robin Thicke veered from the basketball player guesses and went with tall singer Montell Jordan. Ken Jeong went back to basketball player, guessing that Thingamajig was Indian Pacers’ Victor Oladipo.
After Ken received criticism for never being right with his guesses, it turned out to be Indiana Pacers’ Victor Oladipo. Ken was finally right!!!
“It has been a rough year for me but to be able to come out here and put smiles on people’s faces here and just do something fun for once to kind of get away from the game has been awesome. It’s nothing but a blessing for me,” Oladipo said of his time on the show.
However, after much flirtation between Thingamajig and Nicole Scherzinger, the question on everyone’s mind was will they go on a date. Oladipo’s response?
“Of Course. We can go anywhere, anytime, anyplace,” he said. The Masked Singer made a match.
But the night wasn’t over yet. It was time to send yet another character home. This time it came down to the Leopard who had the fewest votes.
And again, the panelists made their final guesses. Robin Thicke said he recognized the famous voice saying it was Seal and Nicole Scherzinger agreed with Robin. Jenny McCarthy went a different route saying it was Eric Bonet and Ken Jeong stuck with his guess of Jeff Goldblum.
Turns out Robin and Nicole were right. The Leopard was none other than hitmaker Seal.
“It was a lot of fun and I’m kind of sad that it’s over,” Seal said of his experience.
We are left with three remaining masked singers — The Fox, Rottweiler and Flamingo— going into the finals. You can see who is under the remaining masks when The Masked Singer airs Wednesday night on FOX.
