There has never been much doubt that Peter Weber’s mom Barbara doesn’t care much about Madison Prewett.
But, she doesn’t necessarily hate her.

“We just simply say that Madison’s values and Peter’s don’t align,” Barbara said in a new interview with Life & Style magazine about her feelings for the Bachelor suitor. “Her values don’t align with Peter’s, but no, we don’t hate her. They just don’t align and … you want to protect your kids no matter how old they are. The most important thing that we want for our children is their happiness. I just want his happiness.”
Indeed, things were very tense on the set of After the Final Rose on Tuesday (March 10) as Weber and Prewett appeared together, seemingly ready to reignite their romance after the Bachelor broke off his engagement to Hannah Ann Sluss.
And come to find out, this proposed reignited romance was a complete surprise to Barbara.
“I knew Madison was in the picture, but I didn’t know what was going to happen [on ATFR] until the last moment,” Barbara told the magazine. “We couldn’t have any contact with (Peter.) What everybody heard was the first time we heard it.”
Granted, both Peter and Madison have already headed to their respective Instagram accounts to let fans know that, just days after proclaiming their love, the two have decided to go their separate ways.

“Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” Peter said, in part. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”
What a train wreck.
