If Jennifer Hudson throws her shoe at you, it’s a good thing. And, that’s exactly what happened following SandyRedd’s performance Monday night during “The Voice” live playoffs.

Melinda Bussie, aka SandyRedd, wowed the coaches with a powerful cover of Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama.” The contestant put a unique spin on the song and it paid off. Beginning the track slowly with whispered vocals, SandyRedd entranced the viewers. The song soon included delicate piano accompaniment and backing singers as SandyRedd continued to pick up the pace.

Dressed all in red, complete with a red cape and knee-high silver boots with red stripes up the sides, SandyRedd’s performance exuded star power. As she pranced around the stage, a camera panned to her coach, JHud, who was visibly impressed. Watch her performance below.

The results from Monday’s show will be revealed Tuesday night (Nov. 13) when “The Voice” airs on NBC. Half of the top 24 contestants will then move on to the next round.

“Sang it lil redd riding hood !!!!” Jennifer shared on Twitter after her contestant’s performance.

SandyRedd has had an uncertain future on the singing competition. She was initially selected as part of Kelly Clarkson’s team but after losing a battle against her teammate, JHud stole SandyRedd for herself. Jennifer once again saved SandyRedd from elimination after she lost in the knockout round. After her performance last night, it is more than evident that Jennifer made the right decision. But will she move through to the next round? Either way JHud better get some new shoes, stat.
