When we last left the crew from Hawkins, Indiana, they had defeated the alien creature (or did they), but in the aftermath we were led to believe that Chief of Police, Jim Hopper—played by David Harbour—had perished in an explosion. However, the ending scene of Season 3 had people questioning whether or not Jim was one of the Americans in the cell, held captive by the Russians.

The new teaser trailer answers that question. As you can see, Jim is alive and held captive by the Russians. The teaser is short and to the point but it reveals a lot. It begins showing faceless men working away in the cold snow, as Russian soldiers guard them with guns. As the camera pans in on one of the men working, he takes off his hat to reveal his identity— Jim Hopper.

Now, we have no idea what has happened to Jim or how the story line of Eleven, Mike, Joyce, Dustin and Lucas will fit in with the Russian storyline but one of the biggest mysteries of season 3 has been answered. Is Jim dead or alive? Now we know.
