Midway through season 3, “This is Us” takes a deep dive into Beth Pearson’s (Susan Kelechi Watson) background and the internet was loving it.
The biggest topic of praise was the casting, especially that of the iconic Phylicia Rashad as Beth’s mom. Best known for her role as Claire Huxtable on The Cosby show, Phylicia brought the heat.

In the episode titled, “Our Little Island Girl,” the show shines the spotlight on Beth’s life before Randall and everything becomes just a little bit clearer. From Beth’s ballet career and her relationship with her parents to teenage Beth meeting teenage Randall, nothing was off limits to the Twitterverse.
