Indiana Couple Is One Stop Away From Completing Their 40-Year Mission to Visit Every Cracker Barrel

Imagine a heroic goal, a quest of epic proportions only the brave and immovable dare attempt like winning a gold medal in the Olympics, climbing Mt. Everest, or running a ultra marathon. Ray and Wilma Yoder of Goshen, Indiana are the kind of people who set goals like that. The couple is about to make history by visiting each of the 645 Cracker Barrel locations in the United States.

Ray Yoder, 80, began visiting Cracker Barrel while driving RVs across the country in the 1960s. “They were always along the main Interstate so you’d have to have your eyes closed to miss them,” he told ABC News. “It’s nice when you’re out there driving that there’s a place that can be so much like home when you’re away from home.”

Yoder added that he has never had a bad experience at the restaurant chain. “I’ve not had a bad experience anytime, I’ve always walked away feeling refreshed.”

His wife of 60 years, Wilma, began joining him on his long drives, visiting Cracker Barrels wherever they went. Eventually, the two set the loft goal of visiting every store in the US, even stopping at 10 locations in one day between Orlando and Canada. Now, the couple is Cracker Barrel royalty.

The plan to visit the last of the 645 locations in Oregon later this year. I can only speculate that they will then be crowned the monarchs of Cracker Barrel and given rocking chair thrones. They deserve it.
