As fires continue to sweep across wine country, people are looking for any and all ways they can help the evacuees, celebrities included.

Guy Fieri, who has lived in Santa Rosa since the ’90s, brought a crew, a wood-fired oven and his barbecue smoker to a Santa Rosa evacuation center where he proceeded to cook meat and mac and cheese for evacuees.

“I called the Salvation Army in Santa Rosa and I said, ‘I’m ready, I’ve got an army, I’m ready to help, and they said ‘Bring it.'”

Guy and his crew provided food for not just the evacuees, but for the hundreds of people helping with relief efforts, too.

“We’re feeding folks in the shelter that have been displaced, plus volunteers on the ground, plus the military. This is the least we can do,” he said in a news report. “We’re so sorry for friends who have lost homes. There’s a lot of really good people coming together.”

According to a local news report, he cooked for about 1,200 people at lunch, and for dinner they were expecting around 2,500 people.

Guy and his wife were forced to evacuate their home in Santa Rosa amidst the fires, but luckily his home is still standing. “We had to evacuate at 2 in the morning, and we grabbed all that we could taking pictures off the wall as fast as we could– jumped in the truck, loaded in the dogs, and away we went,” he said.
