Dick Clark Productions has officially cut ties with the Miss America Organization after emails from Miss America CEO Sam Haskell were discovered that revealed he’d been mocking the sexuality, appearance and intelligence of former Miss America winners and contestants.

According to reports from The Huffington Post and People, the emails included statements like, “OMG she is huge and gross” and asking a colleague to change the phrase “Miss America Forevers” when referring to former Miss America title holders to “Miss America C****.” Emails also revealed him asking if he and three other colleagues were “the only ones not to have” slept with one of the contestants.

“We were appalled by their unacceptable content and insisted, in the strongest possible terms, that the Miss America Organization board of directors conduct a comprehensive investigation and take appropriate action to address the situation,” Dick Clark Productions said in a statement. “Shortly thereafter, we resigned our board positions and notified MAO that we were terminating our relationship with them.”

Former Miss America title holder Mallory Hagan, who was the subject of some of the emails in question, spoke out against Haskell in a series of Tweets, and several of her Miss America sisters came to her defense.
