Bachelor Sean Lowe Took A Boat To Houston To Rescue Hurricane Victims

Most of the current “news” surrounding “The Bachelor” and its sister shows deals with men unable to stand up for more than shot at fame or an acting career. You don’t see much clarity or resolve in those boys. But “Bachelor” alum Sean Lowe isn’t one of them. The Dallas native could not just sit back and watch the devastation of hurricane Harvey, so he borrowed a pontoon boat and set out to rescue people in the flooded streets of Houston.

Lowe shared a picture on his Instagram account of flooded streets turned into rivers by the unrelenting rains. He wrote:

Today I had the chance to do what I could to help some people in the Houston area. I couldn’t believe the devastation. My heart broke for all the elderly who are immobile and the mothers trapped in their homes with young babies. But I was encouraged by the selflessness of so many Texans who came to help where they could. Definitely a day I’ll never forget.

His wife, Catherine, reposted the picture with the caption:

I am so proud of my husband and all the other amazing people out there helping those in need in the Houston area. Praying for safety for all those affected as I do what I can from afar. Please donate what you can – clean underwear, diapers, formula, feminine hygiene products, clean clothes – to your local dropoff.

The Lowe’s are one of the rare couples to last after “The Bachelor.” They live in Dallas with their son Samuel.
