There are numerous No. 1 hits between the members of country group Old Dominion. Collectively, the band members have written hits for artists like Kenny Chesney, Tyler Farr and The Band Perry, but their most recent No. 1 hit is particularly special to the group.

The band’s latest hit “Break Up With Him” has finally reached No. 1 and the band couldn’t be more proud. And the fact that they penned the song together, makes the victory that much sweeter.

The guys celebrated in Nashville and told us the little known secrets behind the hit song, including where it was written.

“It was [written in] a pavilion. We were playing the Kohl’s picnic shelter,” Trevor Rosen said.

Whit Sellers started with the beat and the song took off, with Matthew Ramsey finishing the lyrics on the bus. The best part? The guys saved all of the videos and audio recordings of how the creation process happened.
